<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace; font-size: large;"><b>Happy Holidays!</b> </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ACMvBag3KJM/UrTeoAUaqBI/AAAAAAAAAfI/DNPDuIaHPuQ/s1600/IMG_9376.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ACMvBag3KJM/UrTeoAUaqBI/AAAAAAAAAfI/DNPDuIaHPuQ/s1600/IMG_9376.jpeg" height="267" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Christmas time can be a little crazy for everyone, but luckily I was able to find some free time to get some crafting done, a</span><span style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;">nd today I have Bella Boo's first ever <b>NO-SEW project</b> for an easy Christmas garland! This is a perfect project for little ones to do because you only cut and tie. And in total, it only took me an hour.</span><span style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;"> </span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">The supplies are super easy on your wallet, especially when Christmas shopping can get really expensive. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;">You need:</span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">- scissors</span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">- assorted Christmas fabrics</span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">- some type of string,I just used a roll of white string that was lying around the house</span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;">The only thing I bought was the fabric which in total was only $6.00; the other supplies I had in the house.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-1dFu5HwsES0/UrUT6D32I3I/AAAAAAAAAfY/v36AdJe64Bw/s1600/IMG_0087.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-1dFu5HwsES0/UrUT6D32I3I/AAAAAAAAAfY/v36AdJe64Bw/s1600/IMG_0087.jpg" height="320" width="213" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace; font-size: small;">(Forgot the scissors!)</span></td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">First cut the string as long as you want it to reach, plus add on extra at the ends to hang it up.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Next cut your fabric so that you have strips 10 inches long. Width really doesn't matter because cutting strips can't be perfect but if you do want fatter strips, keep in mind that you will need more fabric than just 1/2 yard. My strips were generally 1.5 inches wide x 10 inches long.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Now just start knotting the strips on your string. You can slide your knots closer together or farther apart depending on what you prefer but remember to leave some string at the end in order to hang it up. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-1kezu93imQE/UrUUpWNJ9XI/AAAAAAAAAfg/TiWSLbC-yRo/s1600/IMG_0088.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-1kezu93imQE/UrUUpWNJ9XI/AAAAAAAAAfg/TiWSLbC-yRo/s1600/IMG_0088.JPG" height="238" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-x7CBId1cFyM/UrUUz7fOCKI/AAAAAAAAAfo/tzmgktA01gI/s1600/IMG_0089.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-x7CBId1cFyM/UrUUz7fOCKI/AAAAAAAAAfo/tzmgktA01gI/s1600/IMG_0089.jpg" height="200" width="183" /></a><span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Once you have tied as many knots as you want, go test your garland out to see how it looks and its length. If you are happy with your work then you're done! Just like that, you've made a festive Christmas decoration to spread some holiday cheer! </span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Bella</span></div>

<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-xpLRPTctVi0/Um3EaCosW3I/AAAAAAAAAbc/NhFcVX4crXg/s1600/photo+2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-xpLRPTctVi0/Um3EaCosW3I/AAAAAAAAAbc/NhFcVX4crXg/s1600/photo+2.JPG" height="325" width="400" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;"><br />
</span> <span style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;">I don't know about you, but fall is one of my favorite times of the year- the change in nature, the cooler air (especially compared to Memphis' oh-so-very humid summers), and it's the time to pull out the pants and scarves and great fall colors! </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br />
</span> <span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">One of my favorite colors is orange, kind of ironic cause it's October, but this post focuses more on wearing it day-to-day rather than in a pumpkin costume!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">I'm a big fan of this color cause it's bright (1), you don't have to wear it just in fall (2), and I feel like it makes the wearer look even "brighter," sort-of-speak (3). Now orange comes in all different hues so I've played around with different ones lately.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">For example, this week I paired a vintage auburn button down that I bought with a scarf and some black jeans! Voila!</span><br />
<br />
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-wxYhG2mNVw8/Um3EUynSTbI/AAAAAAAAAbU/TQ-qxQo8qqM/s1600/photo+1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-wxYhG2mNVw8/Um3EUynSTbI/AAAAAAAAAbU/TQ-qxQo8qqM/s1600/photo+1.JPG" height="200" width="86" /></a><span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br />
</span> <span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">And then for church this past Sunday, I wore a simple orange skirt, that I had made using <a href="http://seekatesew.com/the-seriously-so-easy-gathered-skirt-tutorial/"><span style="color: #93c47d;">this easy tutorial</span></a> with a white lace top, simple vintage brown belt, and some flats! I've also worn this skirt during a college visit when my family and I went up to DC. I paired it with a chunky brown belt and a navy polka-dotted top.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"> </span><br />
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Z8Os_YOvOJI/Um3GS2a4cCI/AAAAAAAAAbw/BQv2Eic621k/s1600/photo+1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Z8Os_YOvOJI/Um3GS2a4cCI/AAAAAAAAAbw/BQv2Eic621k/s1600/photo+1.JPG" height="200" width="150" /></a><span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br />
</span><span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">And lastly, I went for the brighter, more neon shade of orange for a neon-themed football game this past Friday. I actually bought the fabric at Hancock in the same aisle that they were selling camo fabric for other hunting wear. I then sewed an infinity scarf out of it using <a href="http://sweet-verbena.blogspot.com/2011/10/single-loop-lace-infinity-scarf.html"><span style="color: #6fa8dc;">Sweet Verbena's tutorial</span></a> and paired it with a dark blue top, black pleather skirt, brown leather jacket, and simple black ballet flats.(But man how I need to invest in some black booties for this colder weather!)</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br />
</span><span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">What I'm trying to say is that orange is one of the most versatile colors out there and I encourage you to go and give it a try! Whether it's through a small detail, like a bracelet or scarf, or on a much larger scale with a skirt, this color will not disappoint you. And it comes in so many shades that you can pick and choose what best fits you!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br />
</span> <span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Well that's all for now! Hope everyone is having a Happy Halloween! </span><br />
<span style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace; text-align: center;"><br />
</span> <span style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace; text-align: center;">Blogging to you with lots of love!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace; text-align: center;">Bella</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"></span><br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Well hey there! How's life?! Life here has been pretty crazy with junior year settling in and life coming at you like crazy, but I'm making it day by day thanks to God's constant help and wonderful love.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Today I want to share my newest buy with you because if you're getting the DIY bug like I am, this book by Grace Bonney is full of great ideas! And the cover's pretty :) (even though you're never supposed to judge a book by it's cover)! The majority of <u>Design Sponge at Home</u> displays all these beautiful homes for your brain to soak up all their loveliness in, and the last part is full of DIY projects for you to actually create some of the things you saw in the previous houses.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Some of my favorite pages have been:</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">21</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">37</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">45</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">78</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">100-101</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">113</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">179</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">197</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">But what's good about this book is that it fits all styles and houses! Go check it out at a library and explore a little- I promise you won't be disappointed!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">I promise more posts are to come so stick around! Hope everyone is enjoying fall and the (hopefully) the beautiful weather it is bringing where you are! Blogging to you with lots of love!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>

It has been way too long since I last posted and I am so sorry! School has been CRAZY but I'm slowly but surely trying to find more time to sew. Those times that I have had the chance to get some free time, I've had some FUN! Check out a few of the projects I finished during this time and where to find similar tutorials:</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<br />
<span style="color: #674ea7; font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Fabric Headbands:</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">As I've been sewing more, I've also been collecting more and more scraps of fabric. This problem sound familiar to anyone...? :) Well I have a solution for your more smaller pieces- fabric head bands! Check out the full post <a href="http://bellaboobeauties.blogspot.com/2013/02/fabric-head-bands.html"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">here</span></a>!</span><br />

<span style="color: #e69138;"><span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br />Ruffle Pillows:</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">I was able to make custom pillows recently for one of my closest friends!</span><span style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace; text-align: center;">She wanted pillows out of burlap with white fabric on the front. I had received a free pattern from </span><a href="http://seekatesew.blogspot.com/" style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace; text-align: center;"><span style="color: #8e7cc3;">seekatesew</span></a><span style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace; text-align: center;"> and decided to use it instead! The pattern is the ruffle clutch pattern and for any interested in purchasing patterns, I would totally recommend it!</span><span style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace; text-align: center;"> My friend loved her pillows and I am so happy with how they turned out! You can check out the full post here! </span><br />

<span style="color: #6aa84f; font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Tchao Juli!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">For the past two months, my sister Juliana traveled to Colombia, South America. I did the same thing in eight grade, and speaking from experience, it was the best time of my life! You can check out her adventures at her blog- <a href="http://julianaarbelaezcolombia.blogspot.com/"><span style="color: #3d85c6;">Memphis to Medellín</span></a>!</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Well before she left, I made her a little pouch to hold her trinkets and a letter for her! For her pouch, I followed <a href="http://sweet-verbena.blogspot.com/2011/10/charmed-pencil-pouch-tutorial-and-etsy.html"><span style="color: orange;">this tutorial</span></a> from Sweet Verbena. You can see out how it turned out <a href="http://bellaboobeauties.blogspot.com/2013/03/tchao-juli.html"><span style="color: #e06666;">here</span></a>!</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Sorry that it has taken me so long to get back to blogging but I hope that these new posts give everyone some good ideas for SPRING! Have a great week!</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">The burlap really wasn't too hard to sew with, just be aware that it fringes <b>a lot</b>!<b> </b>I would recommend buying a spray for fraying fabric or just trim the fabric when you need to! I used the same pattern for the pillows that I'm going to explain in my pillow tutorial (coming soon ;) My friend loved her pillows and I am so pleased with how they turned out on her bed:</span><br />

I had done the same thing in eight grade, and speaking from experience, it was the best time of my life! You can check out her adventures at her blog- <a href="http://julianaarbelaezcolombia.blogspot.com/"><span style="color: cyan;">Memphis to Medellín</span></a>!</span><br />
<br />
I actually used two swatches of fabric AND a a piece of felt. Each was 6 1/2 by 6 1/2 in.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">In Katy's tutorial she uses a piece of felt and one swatch of fabric. She places the fabric right side out on the felt, like so:</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-RugbbdfkN5w/UQ1tUFsMSwI/AAAAAAAAARI/aAZhDP2B4RI/s1600/IMG_3980.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-RugbbdfkN5w/UQ1tUFsMSwI/AAAAAAAAARI/aAZhDP2B4RI/s320/IMG_3980.jpeg" height="301" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<span style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;">Because I chose to use two pieces of fabric and a piece of felt, for extra stuffing, I laid out my fabrics like an oreo: right sides out and felt piece in middle. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-fPXQNZo8WXk/UUY0-qAkt8I/AAAAAAAAAVc/WpeDbOahZG0/s1600/IMG_3500.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-fPXQNZo8WXk/UUY0-qAkt8I/AAAAAAAAAVc/WpeDbOahZG0/s1600/IMG_3500.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<span style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Now like the <a href="http://sweet-verbena.blogspot.com/2011/10/charmed-pencil-pouch-tutorial-and-etsy.html"><span style="color: #8e7cc3;">tutorial</span></a>,I quilted my oreo of fabric, simply by sewing straight lines down the fabric. This is where you have "poetic license"- you can quilt in any direction/ style/ or not quilt at all. </span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-1WJLUevuF8s/UUY06DbO-gI/AAAAAAAAAVU/7fZSMUp-7UQ/s1600/IMG_3494.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-1WJLUevuF8s/UUY06DbO-gI/AAAAAAAAAVU/7fZSMUp-7UQ/s1600/IMG_3494.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace; text-align: center;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace; text-align: center;">I then followed Katy's tutorials on how to add a zipper to the bag:</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Dg8tXkDXpEA/UQ1t51NfBbI/AAAAAAAAARg/lXWc0E84gww/s1600/IMG_3240.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Dg8tXkDXpEA/UQ1t51NfBbI/AAAAAAAAARg/lXWc0E84gww/s320/IMG_3240.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">My biggest mistake when it came to this step was I added the second square of fabrics on the same side of the zipper as I did the other. No bueno... So be mindful that one side- the right side (side with flowers)- will line up with one inside side of the zipper and the other square of fabric's right side will line up with the other inside side of the zipper.</span><span style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;"> </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-nsO-DT3A3EE/UQ1t42WZzcI/AAAAAAAAARY/1p9E5nzzrBM/s1600/IMG_3241.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-nsO-DT3A3EE/UQ1t42WZzcI/AAAAAAAAARY/1p9E5nzzrBM/s320/IMG_3241.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Your fabrics should come out looking like this:</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ZwLAWUNDTxk/UQ1t82aAPfI/AAAAAAAAARw/Gv39zeqAJ40/s1600/IMG_3243.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ZwLAWUNDTxk/UQ1t82aAPfI/AAAAAAAAARw/Gv39zeqAJ40/s320/IMG_3243.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Now flip the fabrics back over so you see their back sides, for me it was the typewriter sides. Put the two ends on top of each other so that it looks like this:</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-jrBm3782yqM/UQ1t_FT3H1I/AAAAAAAAAR4/X59VAmT5S1U/s1600/IMG_3244.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-jrBm3782yqM/UQ1t_FT3H1I/AAAAAAAAAR4/X59VAmT5S1U/s320/IMG_3244.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Now stich along the bottom, <b>but not on the sides</b>. That was my other problem- I stitched all around and then wondered why it didn't look like Katy's example... Haha and then I had to pull out all those stitches...</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Push down on the zipper so that the pouch looks like this:</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-kqDfayyqkU0/UQ1uBb0hmSI/AAAAAAAAASI/6-pny2p6VcM/s1600/IMG_3246.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-kqDfayyqkU0/UQ1uBb0hmSI/AAAAAAAAASI/6-pny2p6VcM/s320/IMG_3246.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Now stitch along the sides that are still open( the same vertical line where the zipper ends meet the fabric) and snip any extra of the zipper. Flip this bad boy inside out and voila! </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-GVGRBqpdcBs/UQ1t_3gG3II/AAAAAAAAASA/I5PAvHGyRjg/s1600/IMG_3245.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-GVGRBqpdcBs/UQ1t_3gG3II/AAAAAAAAASA/I5PAvHGyRjg/s320/IMG_3245.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Now fill it up with small lipsticks, post it notes, paper clips... Whatever your heart desires!</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">*Side Note: If you want, you can also always add a little charm to the end of your zipper. I added a little key charm to Juli's bag just for some fun!*</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">I have now made two and am in love with both! To make these, you actually have to download a pattern from <a href="http://www.happytogethercreates.com/2011/07/double-sided-fabric-headband-pattern.html"><span style="color: #e06666;">this site</span></a>. It is super easy to follow and comes out beautifully!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-5BPnY6be5Rw/UQ10yKhvUMI/AAAAAAAAASY/Sy50N-wca-c/s1600/IMG_3115.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-5BPnY6be5Rw/UQ10yKhvUMI/AAAAAAAAASY/Sy50N-wca-c/s1600/IMG_3115.JPG" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Once you have printed out the pattern, follow the rest of Jessica's tutorial at <a href="http://www.happytogethercreates.com/2011/07/double-sided-fabric-headband-pattern.html" style="color: #e06666;">Happy Together</a>! Oh and like always, these headbands can be done by hand too. </span><br />

Sorry that it has been so long since I've posted... School was starting to get into the swing of things and life was just getting crazy, but fun! </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">This post is actually going to be made up of two parts! Today I'm going to show how to get a slip knot, casting on, and choosing the right needles and right size yarn. Next post to Knitting 101, we will be working on the first knitting project for this blog! </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-UNrQ7gAywwI/UPOBlUmxOlI/AAAAAAAAAN4/Fi3uJV_j-As/s1600/IMG_3064.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-UNrQ7gAywwI/UPOBlUmxOlI/AAAAAAAAAN4/Fi3uJV_j-As/s320/IMG_3064.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">I had a few helpers to show me with this post, including McKendree from <a href="http://mckwalker7.blogspot.com/" style="color: #93c47d;">GodisLove</a>! Knitting with a group is the best way to learn!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span><span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><b><br /></b></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><b>Supplies:</b></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">I believe that the easiest needles to learn to knit on are BIG ONES. I like to use size 13 needles. I bought shorter ones and found that it is much better to buy longer ones, like these that my friend owns:</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-BUMn30a2aaE/UPOJkAMQ4cI/AAAAAAAAAQI/eTB-ioEp2hM/s1600/IMG_3236.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-BUMn30a2aaE/UPOJkAMQ4cI/AAAAAAAAAQI/eTB-ioEp2hM/s320/IMG_3236.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span><span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Along with big needles, thick yarn is best too! Some of my favorite brands are LionBrand and Loops & Threads. Be mindful, depending on the how long you want your project to be, you may want to buy more than one ball of yarn. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><b><br /></b></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><b>The Slip Knot:</b></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Remember when you first learned how to tie your shoelaces and how you had to make the two bunny holes, or</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Hy9CppFXQ78/UPOB6e1aDwI/AAAAAAAAAOA/fIjMtpxFtFg/s1600/IMG_3199.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Hy9CppFXQ78/UPOB6e1aDwI/AAAAAAAAAOA/fIjMtpxFtFg/s320/IMG_3199.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">For getting your slip knot, first make your two bunny holes. Now pull one of the ears through the other. As I'm still trying to solve knitting all out, it depends on which hole that you pull through in order to get the slip knot that we need to start. If you pull one hole through and your bunny holes slip through, don't worry! Just make your bunny holes again and try pulling the other hole through. What your ending result should look like is:</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-PiYgKiAlbPU/UPOCFIioRcI/AAAAAAAAAOI/X1zyVHA9Lzc/s1600/IMG_3202.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-PiYgKiAlbPU/UPOCFIioRcI/AAAAAAAAAOI/X1zyVHA9Lzc/s320/IMG_3202.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Oh and here are a few videos to help you cause I know just words can get confusing. I had tried to take a few photos, but they were just more confusing :)</span><br />
<br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span><span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><b>Casting On:</b></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Now that you have your slip knot, it is time to cast on! Videos are also posted at the end of these photos for help with casting on, but I took a litte better quality photos so thought that I would include them!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">1. With your slip knot on the needle, make a triangle with the string and your thumb and index finger- with your tail pushed out by one finger and the string from your ball pushed out by the other. Now grab the string hanging down with your 3 other fingers.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-WD2UID4T6Zg/UPODi3fVNtI/AAAAAAAAAOc/MDSPCgj35lQ/s1600/IMG_3206.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-WD2UID4T6Zg/UPODi3fVNtI/AAAAAAAAAOc/MDSPCgj35lQ/s320/IMG_3206.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">2. Take your needle and put it on the OUTSIDE of the string that is wrapped around your THUMB, like the following:</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Wss94u3tgS0/UPODzFlTCLI/AAAAAAAAAOk/h7tGproYFJc/s1600/IMG_3208.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Wss94u3tgS0/UPODzFlTCLI/AAAAAAAAAOk/h7tGproYFJc/s320/IMG_3208.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">3. Slip in <u>under and through</u> the hold so that it comes out looking like this:</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Zm3dvMEkYkk/UPODzh80gWI/AAAAAAAAAOo/F4Yid-5Bpok/s1600/IMG_3209.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Zm3dvMEkYkk/UPODzh80gWI/AAAAAAAAAOo/F4Yid-5Bpok/s320/IMG_3209.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">4. Take your needle and bring it to the string held by your index finger. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-wWvgQrNSQ50/UPODzlqpvsI/AAAAAAAAAOs/jCe0juJKf-o/s1600/IMG_3210.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-wWvgQrNSQ50/UPODzlqpvsI/AAAAAAAAAOs/jCe0juJKf-o/s320/IMG_3210.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<span style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;">5. Go </span><u style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;">over the string and through</u><span style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;"> the hole.</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Kq8Uxy2zDUM/UPOD0J65SHI/AAAAAAAAAOw/uaEA9QGThf4/s1600/IMG_3211.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Kq8Uxy2zDUM/UPOD0J65SHI/AAAAAAAAAOw/uaEA9QGThf4/s320/IMG_3211.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">6. The next part is the trickiest and the hardest to take a picture of, as you can see from my beautiful photo... But take your thumb and the loop on it and bring it over the needle so that loop goes onto the needle once again. Now slip your thumb through the loop and pull the strings</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-qqxRvWhxYO4/UPOD1RTSSXI/AAAAAAAAAPA/ZCq64r_D4fc/s1600/IMG_3214.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-qqxRvWhxYO4/UPOD1RTSSXI/AAAAAAAAAPA/ZCq64r_D4fc/s320/IMG_3214.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;">7. Slip your thumb through the loop and pull the strings to tighten the stich.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Yuv87QZB81U/UPOD3CdCZQI/AAAAAAAAAPU/iXQH_gFKoLM/s1600/IMG_3216.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Yuv87QZB81U/UPOD3CdCZQI/AAAAAAAAAPU/iXQH_gFKoLM/s320/IMG_3216.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Now repeat steps 1-7 until you have the number of stitches that are needed for your project. For the project that I am working on, I needed 10 stitches.</span></div>
<br />

I made one for my friend to hold a pair of sunglasses that I got her, and today I'm working on one for a friend who just had surgery. <b>Note that you DO NOT need a sewing machine to make these, for they are as easy to make by hand than with a machine. </b>Oh and I took pictures from two different times that I made these bags, so stick with me between all these different pictures. I hope you all are inspired to make more of these little bags for all your little goodies! :)</span><br />
<div>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-0zbqKZk8Lz8/UOJJtBKpQrI/AAAAAAAAAMQ/6zG9FsMqKHQ/s1600/IMG_3096.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-0zbqKZk8Lz8/UOJJtBKpQrI/AAAAAAAAAMQ/6zG9FsMqKHQ/s320/IMG_3096.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;">Materials:</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"> Fabric- measure to a size that will fit whatever you are going to put in the bag + 1 to 1 1/2 inch.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><span style="color: #8e7cc3;">Example:</span> for my friend's bag, I had to make the bag big enough to hold a pair of sunglasses then add one extra inch of fabric in order to be able to fold it over (see end picture); the fabric came out to be two squares that were 6in x 6 in</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">String- you have a lot of flexibility with the string and what material you want to use: f</span><span style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;">or this bag that I am making, I chose to use a thin white yarn, but you can also use friendship bracelet string, lace,ribbon, twine... whatever floats your boat!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-oQv0n8jBLKM/UOJIpqyesUI/AAAAAAAAAKw/MUg4NQU2kUw/s1600/IMG_3070.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-oQv0n8jBLKM/UOJIpqyesUI/AAAAAAAAAKw/MUg4NQU2kUw/s320/IMG_3070.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace; text-align: left;">Simple as that, you just need two main materials for this project(minus of course the thread and needle). Now comes the fun part!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-2-e_uWEncfg/UOJI-awAAmI/AAAAAAAAAK4/1knsI_1OEM4/s1600/IMG_3071.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-2-e_uWEncfg/UOJI-awAAmI/AAAAAAAAAK4/1knsI_1OEM4/s320/IMG_3071.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;">First, before you sew anything, iron your material. This will get rid of any creases in the fabric and make it look nice and smooth.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<br class="Apple-interchange-newline" /><span style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;"><br /></span><br />
<span style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;">Next fold over the top 2 cm on each square of your fabric from the out in. See below photo for better explanation:</span><br />
<span style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-hAo_K7EiHg8/UOJJOqjyi6I/AAAAAAAAALA/sEXr8pYTfOk/s1600/IMG_3072.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-hAo_K7EiHg8/UOJJOqjyi6I/AAAAAAAAALA/sEXr8pYTfOk/s320/IMG_3072.jpg" width="240" /></a><span style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;"><br /></span><span style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Iron down the folds so that they stay down. </span><span style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;">Sew at the bottom of the fold and voila! You have now made a hole for your draw strings to pass through! Do this twice, once for each square.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Ny-t_40jyVE/UOJJZVtqj3I/AAAAAAAAALI/EhwejTsFcH8/s1600/IMG_3074.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Ny-t_40jyVE/UOJJZVtqj3I/AAAAAAAAALI/EhwejTsFcH8/s320/IMG_3074.JPG" width="320" /></a><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-KLRPIRr473s/UOJJiUFnzbI/AAAAAAAAALY/gl5iiPwqLe8/s1600/IMG_3078.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-KLRPIRr473s/UOJJiUFnzbI/AAAAAAAAALY/gl5iiPwqLe8/s320/IMG_3078.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"></span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-bv4ORiUmySU/UOJJghIa3yI/AAAAAAAAALQ/Ps2t-iz0kXY/s1600/IMG_3076.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-bv4ORiUmySU/UOJJghIa3yI/AAAAAAAAALQ/Ps2t-iz0kXY/s320/IMG_3076.JPG" width="320" /></a> <span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Now turn your fabrics so each fabric side,or right side, is facing the other. Align one of the edges of your fabric with the edge of your pressure foot. This will give you a clean 3/8 seam allowance. Now sew until your reach about a 1 cm to 1/2 cm to the edge of you fabric. Lift up the foot, leaving the needle in the fabric, and turn the fabric. Now place the foot back down and sew along the horizontal edge of your fabrics. </span><span style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;">Once you are 1 cm to 1/2 cm to the end, lift up the foot and repeat what you did before to turn the fabric. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-TVKBX9gES-w/UOJLQc7yCDI/AAAAAAAAAMs/PymLnCHUFdg/s1600/IMG_3085.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-TVKBX9gES-w/UOJLQc7yCDI/AAAAAAAAAMs/PymLnCHUFdg/s320/IMG_3085.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;">Continue sewing until you've reached the fold in the fabric. </span><b style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;">DO NOT SEW INTO THE FOLD</b><span style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;"> or you will have closed up the whole... No bueno. Once you have reached the fold, be sure to backstitch in order to guarantee that your ending stitches down unravel.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">If you want to sew by hand, follow the above steps: sewing along the outside of the two fabrics, leaving about 1 cm of space between your stitches and the edge of the fabric; but don't worry about raising your sewing foot and so forth for you just need to change the direction in which you are sewing. Easy peezy!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;">Now to make the draw strings:</span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-GsScUupSxF0/UOJKjCWlR_I/AAAAAAAAAMc/sYDvYtp8apI/s1600/IMG_3092.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-GsScUupSxF0/UOJKjCWlR_I/AAAAAAAAAMc/sYDvYtp8apI/s320/IMG_3092.jpg" width="320" /></a><span style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace; text-align: center;">I like to braid the string that I'm using inorder to make a stronger drawstring, but you can also use friendship bracelets as drawstrings, or if your string is thick enough, you can just leave it by itself</span><span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">! Be sure, no matter what you are doing with your string, to burn the ends so that the string doesn't fray. Oh and remember to make the drawstrings about 2 inches longer on EACH SIDE of the bag in order to have enough string to pull.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-D0dfg5mbiLw/UOJJp1QwbDI/AAAAAAAAAMA/gVcB0UX9ybg/s1600/IMG_3093.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-D0dfg5mbiLw/UOJJp1QwbDI/AAAAAAAAAMA/gVcB0UX9ybg/s320/IMG_3093.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;">Once you have finished making your drawstrings, the easiest way to pull them through the holes is to stick a clothespin in close the knot in the string and push the pin through the hole. It may take a while, but once you have found a rhythm of pushing the fabric forward and pulling the pin, it becomes much easier. Now knot the two strings on either side and pull! Your bag will start to come together! </span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;">There you go! You have just made your very own drawstring back! Give yourself a round of applause! I hope you all are off to a great week and a happy New Years!</span></div>

I first got this idea looking through the tutorials on <a href="http://seekatesew.blogspot.com/p/tutorials_29.html"><span style="color: #93c47d;">seekatesew</span></a> and found this cute <span style="color: #93c47d;"><a href="http://seekatesew.blogspot.com/2010/10/acorn-wreath.html"><span style="color: #93c47d;">acorn wreath</span></a> </span>that she made. She learned how to make it from <a href="http://www.danamadeit.com/2008/07/tutorial-acorn-wreath.html"><span style="color: #8e7cc3;">this tutorial</span></a><span style="color: #674ea7;"> </span>and that is how I made mine!</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-k7OZlR90rQ0/UN0S4LNtLuI/AAAAAAAAAI4/D0A4jysbr78/s1600/IMG_2724.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-k7OZlR90rQ0/UN0S4LNtLuI/AAAAAAAAAI4/D0A4jysbr78/s320/IMG_2724.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">I collected a bag (about 1/2 to 3/4 of a gallon bag) of acorns. Be mindful that AS SOON as you collect your acorns you need to roast them for 10 to 15 minutes at 350 degrees. My first bag of acorns that I collected I let sit and after a while they started looking bad and so we had to throw them out. By the time I had time to collect another bag of acorns, it was late fall and the acorns were weak and kept splitting... So word to the wise, collect your acorns early in the fall and be sure to roast them as soon as you are done collecting! </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-zmzl5n8GBpM/UN0cErDlakI/AAAAAAAAAJI/rPMCrmPYdfo/s1600/IMG_3042.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-zmzl5n8GBpM/UN0cErDlakI/AAAAAAAAAJI/rPMCrmPYdfo/s320/IMG_3042.jpg" width="240" /></a><span style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;">From there I hot glued them onto a straw wreath much like the one from <a href="http://www.danamadeit.com/2008/07/tutorial-acorn-wreath.html"><span style="color: #8e7cc3;">made</span></a></span><span style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;">. I did not need a large wreath because of where I wanted to put it, but Michael's (or Hobby Lobby) sells all sizes if you want to make a bigger one. Just remember that with a bigger wreath, you have more area to cover, so you are going to need to collect more acorns. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;">Don't worry about hot your gluing acorns on the back of the wreath because once its hung up, no one will see the back. Plus you want the back to be nice and flat, just try to put the acorns as close to back as you can. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;">I then decided to spray paint my wreath because the acorns were more on the grayish tone... But if you do like the natural look, feel free to leave your acorns just the way they are! I picked up this guy from Michael's: </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-vcJAdFfPAxg/UN0cSAgFp6I/AAAAAAAAAJQ/Kb90DSNNbQ4/s1600/IMG_3048.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-vcJAdFfPAxg/UN0cSAgFp6I/AAAAAAAAAJQ/Kb90DSNNbQ4/s320/IMG_3048.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">I wanted a nice solid brown coat that looked natural enough but also made all the acorns and the wreath look the same. I had first purchased one of the small cans of spray paint, but that lasted me about 3/4 of a first coat, so I had to make another trip to Michael's. So to save yourself the second trip, unless you're like me and could just LIVE in Michael's, I would buy the big can of spray paint. Oh and one more thing, it stinks! I spray painted my wreath in our garage, not heeding the bottle's directions of doing it outside, and our garage smelled like sharpie all day. But despite my minor set backs with the spray paint, think it turned out GREAT!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-F4QFVGFiY1A/UN0ccQ03m1I/AAAAAAAAAJY/7Y8fEHoT2i8/s1600/IMG_3041.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"></a><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-v9Yr9WMCwzg/UN0ceHcUqoI/AAAAAAAAAJg/Mes0o_po1O4/s1600/IMG_3044.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"></a><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-F4QFVGFiY1A/UN0ccQ03m1I/AAAAAAAAAJY/7Y8fEHoT2i8/s1600/IMG_3041.jpg" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-F4QFVGFiY1A/UN0ccQ03m1I/AAAAAAAAAJY/7Y8fEHoT2i8/s320/IMG_3041.jpg" width="240" /></a><span style="color: black;"></span></div>
<span style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace; text-align: center;">And then for the finishing touch, I added a cute orange ribbon to give it more a "falley" look! I actually think that I want to keep the wreath in my room all year :) I hope you all enjoyed this tutorial and might want to try it out soon! It really does work for any season cause you can always change the color scheme of the wreath or the materials that you used with it, check out the </span><a href="http://www.danamadeit.com/2008/07/tutorial-acorn-wreath.html" style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace; text-align: center;"><span style="color: #8e7cc3;">made tutorial</span></a><span style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace; text-align: center;"> to see what other things she used in her wreaths! </span><br />

<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Hey there! </span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-VdwXZmz5_kE/UrUXv6RW5UI/AAAAAAAAAf8/aC0JE8X7U_8/s1600/me.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-VdwXZmz5_kE/UrUXv6RW5UI/AAAAAAAAAf8/aC0JE8X7U_8/s1600/me.jpg" height="253" width="400" /></a></div>
<br /></div>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Welcome to Bella Boo's Beauties. This blog hopes to inspire your inner crafter and keep you creating all through your life! It's already growing so much and I am can't wait to see where it goes. I love new ideas so please feel free to email me, <a href="https://www.facebook.com/pages/Bella-Boos-Beauties/142966042522948"><span style="color: cyan;">fb message</span></a>, or add a comment with your thoughts. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">But before you start exploring this site, here's a little backstory...</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-OYZhji9B-Vs/UrUXRMKIvqI/AAAAAAAAAf4/H_d24bpPGzI/s1600/Liv+and+Bella.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-OYZhji9B-Vs/UrUXRMKIvqI/AAAAAAAAAf4/H_d24bpPGzI/s1600/Liv+and+Bella.jpg" height="256" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: right;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">My full name is Isabella, but "Bella" has become a popular nickname! The "Boo" part comes from my dad always calling me "Bella Boo." I thought it fitting to name this blog "Bella Boo's Beauties," because I believe that anything handmade is uniquely beautiful. I find it so easy to get down on myself when something goes wrong in the creating process, but I have to keep reminding myself, and I hope you all will to, that the work I put into it is much more gratifying than how it comes out.</span></div>
<br />
<span style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;">On that note, I am a beginner sewer and plan to have many oopers and bloopers along the road! </span><br />
<span style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">I just recently got my machine in 2012. It is is a CS-6000i Brother and I LOVE it. If you have ever worked on a Singer, it works very much the same way! Nice and simple, but its work and stitches come out beautifully.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>

I LOVE to run and of course to be crafty! Oh and I love to goof off so prepare yourself for some cheesy jokes :) I think the best reason to be crafty is for gift giving! It just warms me up when I am proud of the gift I'm giving! I hope you all enjoy this blog as much as I do writing it!</div>

<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Blogging to you with lots of love!</span><br />
